Have you ever been to a Farmers Market? It's a great place for the community to gather and support local farmers, small businesses and crafters. You can find fresh eggs, produce, beautiful flowers and plants, delicious popcorn, food, handmade products and more. When we started 1133 Candles in 2018, after opening our Etsy shop online, we wanted to meet customers like you in person and find out which scents you love the most.
That's when we started participated weekly at the Lakewood Farmers Market in California. Many of our loyal customers who are still with us today, discovered our scented candles at the market. During the pandemic, we stopped all in-person events and pop up shops and continued to serve our customers via our website. But after prayer and God's perfect timing, you can now shop our Bible Verse Candles, Soy Wax Melts and Christian Gifts locally again, every Saturday at the Farmers Marketplace of Lakewood.
This past weekend was our first day back at the farmers market in the city of Lakewood. Set up was at 7am and after an hour, we were ready and serving customers. It's always a joy when people stop by our table, look and want to find out what smells so good. They were able to experience our New Georgia Peach summer candle and
wax melts inspired by the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). As well as, try the non-toxic room sprays for their home and car, scented soy wax melts for warmers and scented candles with Bible verse on them. Great for their quiet time, home decor and unique gifts for women and men too!
The feedback was amazing, everyone loved that our candles are highly scented but not overpowering, which is especially great for people with fragrance sensitivities. They also appreciated the encouraging messages on every product and that are candles make great gifts. Like one Mother that purchased our
Vanilla Strawberry Cupcake candle to send her daughter out of state because it said "Happy Birthday" on it. Or, another customer who smelled our
Mahogany Wood "Mighty Man of Valor" candle and said it was the perfect gift for her co-worker, he loves to light masculine scented candle.

It was a fun and busy weekend, we're grateful to have met fellow small business owners, new customers and thank you to our loyal customers and email subscribers for coming to support! Every Saturday, you can find us at the Lakewood Farmers Market from 8am-1pm (except for June 28th, the city is having a special event). The address is 4990 Clark Ave, Lakewood CA (on the corner of Clark and Del Amo). Come out and Support local farmers, enjoy some tamales, fresh squeezed juice (our kids love it), as well as know that every purchase with us at 1133 Candles, will be donated to non-profits and ministries that are doing the Lord's work.
