What is the 8-10 Candle Rule?
Share
Have you ever lit an 8oz candle in your bathroom and it filled the space with a delightful fragrance? However, when you lit an 8oz candle in your larger living room, the scent didn't fill the space quite the same. Why does that happen and what's the solution?

Well, I'm so glad that you asked! One 8oz soy candle is great for small to mid-sized rooms such as your bathroom, office or bedroom. It will fill your space with pleasant fragrances to help you experience the light, the scent and the peace.
But, for larger spaces, it's a good idea to implement the 8-10 Candle Rule to permeate the space with scent. For every 10-foot radius in a room, you should light an 8oz candle at strategic locations. Let's say for example your living room has a 20-foot radius, that means you would light two 8oz candles (more than three inches a part for safety reasons) to fill the entire room with fragrance.

This rule is ideal to improve the ambiance for a cozy night at home, holiday gatherings with family and when sending candle gifts to friends! Most people choose to light the same scent in two or more candles for larger rooms. But it won't hurt to try different scents that complement each other to create your own home fragrance.
We would suggest lighting an 8oz Lavender Vanilla candle with an 8oz Eucalyptus Spearmint candle for a calming combination. For a large kitchen area, combine an 8oz Butter Pecan Waffle with an 8oz Coffee Shop for a café type fragrance.
Or, transform a large bedroom space into a tropical getaway with an 8oz Honeydew Coconut Candle and an 8oz Ocean Breeze. The possibilities are endless and remember that you can try our spring, summer, fall or winter candle bundles and save. Or, if you would prefer to try our top 10 bestselling scents, then the 8oz candle bundle is the way to go. Shop our entire candle collection here.
